We don’t stop at just shelter. We go the extra mile to make sure our guests’ homelessness is left in the past – walking beside them until they’re standing tall and taking their future in their stride.
Formerly The Bus Shelter MK – we’re now simply The Shelter MK. Our highly experienced team is passionate about making a difference, working with every guest, across our 21 beds in Milton Keynes, to build their independence and make the choices they need to move on.

Our charity started life offering beds and support in a double-decker bus. While Covid forced us to give up the bus in 2021, our innate creativity led us to convert shipping containers to custom sleeping pods and a living space in Stantonbury.
Can you imagine stepping into a hot shower, clean clothes and having your first hot meal in as long as you can remember? Our dedicated team is then on hand to help our guests look to the future and figure out their next steps.
It’s our mission to keep on doing what we’re doing to the highest standard, and we need your support to do that. It’s also our vision to create another George House in Milton Keynes so we can help more guests turn their lives around.
Every person who’s involved with The Shelter MK believes they can help people experiencing homelessness in Milton Keynes change their lives. Our board is no exception. Each trustee brings their own blend of expertise and strategic know-how to the table.
